Hannah continues to work on her homework in the mornings between when we take the big kids to school and when we take her to school. She overhears our oral reading, and I like to think she's picking up something here and there, but who knows?
Not math, exactly, but a whole lot of bartering skills went on Thursday and Friday.
If you know what I mean.
Gotta love a spelling curriculum that encourages kids to write their words in sidewalk chalk.

One of our Norway crafts. Global Art
has a project called Lapland Felt Square. We learned that the Lapps live in a region that covers the northern areas of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. The project looked like fun, but what to do with a finished felt square? I decided we should make them small enough to turn into Christmas ornaments.

We're also in the process of rosemaling some craft boxes. But they're not finished yet. The kids have pre-painted the background. We'll be working on the designs soon.
Honestly, it's been harder this week to get school done. With Sassy Girl and Mr Jingle Pants going to school, I had a few hours each day we could focus on homeschooling without interruption. Not to mention, Jingle and Hannah played well together when I was working with the older kids.
Sparkle and Fluffy require a bit more supervision. As we discovered when they got into the fridge and helped themselves to half a dozen tubes of Gogurt behind the couch one morning while I was giving a spelling test upstairs. So we've all been hanging out together in the school room. I'm realizing how many of my old tricks for homeschooling with toddlers and preschoolers I've forgotten! The pattern blocks, board books, and puzzles have been getting a good workout.
And when pattern blocks get left out, everybody plays with them!

After looking longingly at this Around the World Coloring Book
for a while, I finally caved and bought it. I'm so glad I did! With over 30 countries featured, we'll be able to use it for almost all of our remaining countries.

Honestly, we're not totally done with Norway yet. Hopefully we'll be able to catch up tomorrow so we can get started on France!
