Back in the Saddle

Back in the Saddle is a charming love story, between two interesting characters.  The opening is very attention grabbing, and the story is fast paced throughout the whole book.

Angelina has a secret or two, and is running from the past, but in the end, she can't deny who she is or what she's meant to do.

Colt has held onto a lifetime of hurt from his childhood, but he's managed to make a life for himself in the big city, far away from his small town roots.  That is, until it all comes crashing down, and he's forced to return home.

The supporting cast of characters is well rounded and interesting, too, with people of all ages, spanning 3 generations.

Despite Sam (who is Colt's father) having a reputation as a greedy, selfish man, the town unites in the face of adversity, and Colt saves the day by proposing a plan to overcome a situation that could end in ruin.

I literally laughed out loud at a conversation between Angelina (who keeps house for Sam) and Sam, where he says, "But I'm not a jerk now."  Although it was funny, it was also a good reminder that you can't expect one act of kindness to cancel out a lifetime of less than kind behavior.

I enjoyed Back in the Saddle, and was pleased to read that the next book in the series, which deals with younger brother, Nick, will be out in October of 2016.  This is a G rated romance, and I'm passing it on to Brianna so she can read it, too.
